    Narrative: Launch from beach at camp, paddle north to Point Doughty - stop & explore the Point & enjoy the views from its height. Continue around the Point, explore the rocky coast depending on the wind & swell (which can be strong or "glass" depending on the day. Continue along the north shore of Orcas to North Beach; return by the same route.

    Landing types: Level 2: Frequent landing opportunities including docks or moderate sloping banks, brush or overhanging trees
    Currents: Level 2: Mild currents (up to 2 knots): current increases / decreases group speed by half
    Total distance: Level 2: 6 to 11 miles

    Rating Comments: There are likely to be some rips / turbulence going around the Point.
    Depending on conditions (wind velocity) there can be more challenging conditions with larger swell along the north side of Orcas.
    We'll be monitoring conditions carefully as the launch time approaches.

    If you have any desire to get close to the rocky north shore, helmets will be required. If you have practice using your tow rope, please wear it.
