On sunday 11-13-16 we paddled around Bachelor Island, out of Ridgefield, Wa. There were only 3 of us, all with about equal paddling skills so it was easy to stay together and we did the 10 mile trip in about 3 1/2 hrs including a rest stop and a lunch break.

The weather was beautiful, no wind, and no rain. The river was glass smooth most of the way and we never encountered any power boats.

We did see 4 eagles, an otter, an egret and several herons. There were no wet exits or safety issues.

This was a great relaxed paddle.

Narrative: We will circumnavigate Bachelor Island. We will be on a flood tide around noon. Depending on wind and river flows we can decide later if we go clockwise or counter clockwise. There are several natural locations for taking breaks and having lunch, hope you bring your lunch. We can expect the weather to be typical for November so full emersion gear is needed.
