Narrative: Warm-up Wednesdays continue for the first two weeks in May! We'll launch from Speelyai at 9:30 a.m. and head upstream. Our destination is picturesque Canyon Creek. There are plenty of spots for lunch and breaks. This is a good time to paddle the lake, before the nearby campground opens and there are more power boats on the water. At least half of our trip is in a no-wake zone. There may be a parking fee in May; be prepared for that. Unless you’ve brought a trailer, do not park in the boat parking spaces (you might receive a ticket); use the single-car spaces. There will be either vault or plumbed toilets available, depending on when they change from fall/winter to summer amenities. Bring along a snack or lunch. This paddle may be out of cell phone range. 9 miles round-trip. Arrive in time to be ready to launch at 9:30.
Directions: From the I-5 Woodland, Washington Exit #21 take Highway 503 East, approximately 14 miles to Speelyai Bay Park.
