FAQ: How to sign up for a trip/class/event, check your registration, and cancel your registration

    Needing to cancel the Waldo Lake event. Change of plans. How do I get in touch with the trip organizer?

    To sign up for a trip/class/event

    • Log into your OOPS membership account.  For families, each member needs to log in and register separately.
    • Visit our calendar and find an event whose title interests you.  Click on that event
    • If the event details look interesting to you,  click the "Register" button in the lower left to sign up
    • Enter your OOPS e-mail address and click "Next"
    • If you are not already logged in, you will be asked to log in at this point.
    • Enter your details for the trip organizer (name, carpooling neighborhood, phone number, emergency contacts) and click "Next"
    • Check your registration information and click "Confirm" if it looks OK
    • You will see a screen that confirms your registration is complete.  Click "Return to Event"
    • Done!

    How to check on who is registered for an event (including yourself)

    • Log into your OOPS membership account.  For families, each member needs to log in and register separately.
    • Find the event on the calendar and click it to open it
    • On the left-hand side, note the "Spaces Left" and "Registered" sections
    • Next to "Registered," you should see a "<number> registrants" link.  If you do not see this link, you are not logged in
      • Click on this to see who is signed up (including, possibly, yourself).
      • If you are already signed up for the event, you will see an "Already Registered" link under the big green "Register" or "Join Waitlist" button.
    • From here you can also click the "Register" button if you want to sign up after seeing who is going, and are not already registered

    How to cancel your registration

    • The short answer is that you need to do this by e-mailing your activity's Organizer.
    • Which also means (poor Organizer) that they need to manually keep track of who registered, and who is on the waitlist, and manually maintain the list of who is actually going (keeping within our Activity Policies).
    • Why is this manual process when signup is so easy?  We don't know, but we think it has to do with the assumption by Wild Apricot that event registrations usually involve money, taxes, etc. and thus cancellations involve moving money around that should be done by an administrator (to authorize payment *from* the club to the cancelling party, etc.).
    • We have put in an enhancement request to make this easier (along with many other clubs).
