Narrative::
This will be a relaxed paddle downstream on the Willamette passing Ox and Hog Island. The river shore is dotted with lovely houses and green spaces. Our midmorning departure will take advantage of an ebb tide and then we may get a break as we head back in slack/early flood. We'll pass the popular beach of George Rogers Park and and stop for a late lunch exiting at the dock at Foothills Park. Expect to see eagles, osprey, and possibly a fish in mid air.
The trip distance should be around 5.5 - 6 miles. Please be water-ready at 10:45 a.m. Water temperature is mid 70's. Air temperature will be 70-80. No immersion wear is required. Paddlers should expect to stay with the pod. Canoes with flotation and kayaks 12’ and longer are welcome. No inflatables, please.
