Narrative::
Join us for a weekday paddle on the Willamette River launching from Rogers Landing in Newberg. We will be heading upstream from Newberg on the channel behind Ash Island to the confluence of the Willamette and Yamhill rivers where we will take a break on a sandy beach area. On the return leg we will take the main river channel back to the takeout. Currents are mild at this time of the year so not a hard upstream journey and a bit of a following current on the return. This trip passes through primarily rural areas, not unusual to see Heron and Eagle along the way. Total trip length is about 10 miles. The weather looks excellent with mild winds and sunny skies. Water temperature is a mild 73 degrees if people would like to practice rescues or just get wet. Post trip refreshment options close by in Newberg.
If another TO is interested in joining this trip, we can accommodate more paddlers.
Launch fee at Rogers Landing is $3, debit or credit cards only.
