Narrative::
The Sechelt Inlet is a prime paddling destination. The waters are fairly calm thanks to the geography of the landscape, so you’re unlikely to encounter big waves, as may be possible in the open ocean. Wildlife watchers will be treated to sightings of bald eagles, seals and porpoises, along with a variety of marine life such as starfish and crabs. The deep blue sea gives way to tree lined mountains where no roads go, making for a true back country experience in the wilderness.
We will meet at Porpoise Bay Provincial Park at 8:30, be on the water by 9:30, then follow the coast north, stopping as desired at Mt Richardson Provincial Park beaches. We’ll head towards the First Nations petroglyphs at Nine Mile Beach Returning along the same route back to the take-out.
