Full Name:
Nicholas Marshall
Narrative:
The Narrows is one of the prettiest parts of the Willamette River in the Portland area, and is located above the Willamette Falls. In the summer, the conditions are typically mild. This is one of Nick’s mentored paddles with Joseph Skudlarek serving as the mentor.
We will meet at 9:15am at the main boat ramp at Willamette Park in West Linn. We will launch at 10:00am, and paddle upstream through the narrows to Fish Eddy (3.9 miles from Willamette Park). We will take a break for lunch on one of the islands of the narrows before heading back, and we expected to be off the water by 2:30pm.
Bring snacks/water/lunch and sun protection.
The water temperature is expected to be 65-70°F, so cold water protective clothing is not required. Wear what works best for you. If you want to practice rescues, some kind of cold water protective clothing might be nice.
