South Coast Event - Sunset Bay North to Coos Head - L4

Narrative: We’ll launch from Sunset Beach and explore Sunset Bay a Bit. We’ll then head north through (or around depending on wildlife present) Gregory Point Research Reserve towards the entrance of Coos Bay Harbor . We’ll tuck inside of Coos Bay Harbor and land on one of the beaches to the east of Coos Head for Lunch. After lunch, we’ll head back to Sunset beach following a similar route and allowing time for additional play on features in the higher tide. Completing the entire journey will be dependent upon actual conditions day of. Paddlers must have open coast experience, be proficient with self rescues in dynamic water, wear a helmet and carry a tow rope and marine VHF radio. Paddlers should bring snacks/etc for on the water as to the fact that landing is not guaranteed (again dependent upon conditions).

Helmet, Towlines and VHF radios are required for this trip.
