Activity Title:
Willamette River from Rogers Park to Goat Island
Date of Activity:
2/12/2025
Narrative:
This should be a great trip on the Willamette River. The weather forecast (as of 2/10) shows a clear but cold day. We will start at Cedaroak boat ramp and paddle downriver to Rogers Park for a quick break. Then we will paddle upriver and explore Goat Island. If the river is high enough we may even be able to go completely around the Island. Depending on time and desires, we will either have had our lunch at Meldrum Bar Park (there are bathrooms and picnic tables there) before Goat Island or just after leaving it.
We meet at 9AM (earlier if you need time to make the 9:45 meeting time) at Cedaroak boat ramp. There is a bathroom there. Please have your boat and gear ready so that after the meeting (and a quick bathroom break) we can launch. The total distance should be about nine statute miles. Kayaks need to be 14 feet or longer.
