Full Name:
Jon Light-Powell
Narrative:
Come Join Jon to get out of the house. The Sun is supposed to be out and you know that rain is coming. This is an easy trip on the Willamette river in Portland to have some fun and get some winter exercise. We will launch from Willamette park around Noon and go over and see if there are any currents to play in around Toe island. We will continue down the west coast of Ross island, perhaps stop on the tip for a break, and then go on down the Willamette to the Submarine docked at OMSI. Yes, the is the same sub that was feature in "The Hunt For Red October". We will then cross over to the west side of the river and make our way back up stream on that bank to our start. Total Distance is around 4nm. I am thinking we can do 2 knots and have time for a snack break and still get back to our cars by 3:00.
The water is cold. The air may be colder. Wear Dry Suits and gloves and such. Bring a snack.
