Full Name: Brian Stewart Narrative: Let's take advantage of a few days of nice weather and stretch our paddles in the sun. We'll get the chance to see birds and waterfowl - which ones might we spot at this time of year? Maybe you've paddled out of Scappoose or ventured Ridgefield to Warrior Rock Lighthouse... but maybe this is a bit of a different combo for you. Come join Brian on his second mentored paddle - this one with Jon Powell. It's a seven-mile round trip to the lighthouse. Most of this paddle will be in the Multnomah Channel before we venture out on the Columbia for the last half nautical mile. Our launch point has a bathroom and a $10 launch/parking fee. Bring wheels to help with getting your kayak to the launch.
Wet exit certification and spray skirts are required, and must be worn at all times. Recommended: Lunch, snacks, and water. Have gloves and neoprene hood available Meeting Time: 9:30:00 AM Launch Time: 10:00:00 AM Type of activity: Paddle Trip Put in: Scappoose Bay Marina (colocated with Next Adventure); 57420 Old Portland Rd., Warren, OR 97053 There are a couple of kayak loading/unloading spots behind the building.
