Activity Title:
Willamette Narrows - Sara's 3rd Mentored Paddle
Date of Activity:
10/20/2024
Narrative:
Join Sara Spink and Mark Niemann-Ross for Sara’s third and final mentored Paddle up to the Willamette narrows. We will launch from Willamette park WEST LINN (Bernert Landing Boat Ramp). We will travel up the far west bank towards Grove and Rock islands. I’m anticipating some wind and rain, so we will decide based on conditions weather we want to cross over and play in the islands or continue upriver for more of an out-and-back endurance paddle.
The water level is currently about 56 feet, so the Narrows may have some exposed rocks. We'll see how many spots we can get into and explore, given the water levels. Be sure to bring water, snacks, and dress for rain and water temps around 59 degrees. Please arrive as early as you need to in order to be ON the water by 10 a.m.
*Note: I am recommending a dry suit, but wetsuit/dry top or similar should also work. Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.
