This is one of three paddling trips in the area of Port Angeles and Sequim on the northern Olympic Peninsula. The Trip Organizer and Co-Organizer will not be arranging lodging, camping, or meals for participants.

Full Name: Dennis Pennell

Narrative: This is Day #1 of a three day trip This is an exploratory trip for both organizers.
This is a paddle to the New Dungeness Lighthouse on the Dungeness Spit, and beyond to the east end of the spit. If the lighthouse is staffed, we should be able to visit it and climb to the top should we choose to do so. The area is also a national wildlife preserve. Boats (including sea kayaks) are only allowed to land in a small, restricted area just to the south of the New Dungeness Lighthouse because the area is a wildlife refuge.

As always, this trip is dependent on conditions being favorable. This area is known for rapid weather changes, so we will monitor the weather reports closely.

Bring a contact (short) tow and a long tow if you have them.
Dry suits required.
Sea kayaks capable of paddling a sustained 3 knots required.
