Narrative:
Join Joe Howell and me for paddle trip up Washington's Elochoman Slough. We'll begin our journey from the shores of our campground by paddling up the Columbia River along Washington's shoreline about 2.5 miles to the mouth of the slough. From there we'll travel up the slough behind Huntington Island and circumnavigate it before re-entering the Columbia. Once back on the Columbia, we'll have have a slight assist paddling downriver back to our campground. Note that we'll have a flood tide paddling upriver in the morning with an ebbing tide for journey downriver in the afternoon. Total distance will be about 10 miles. Should there be moderate winds, part of our trip will be in a more protected area of the river.
