Narrative:
We'll decide our launch site at the meeting the night before. In the morning, we'll meet at 9 a.m. to be ready to launch by 9:30 a.m. If you need more time, please arrive early enough to be launch-ready by 9:30. We'll group up and make a fast crossing of the Columbia to the islands on the south side, where we will turn west and paddle toward Grassy and Woody Islands. We'll explore the beautiful sloughs and the south sides of these low-lying islands as we work our way west and around to the north side of Woody Island, where we should find a nice sand beach to land for lunch. After lunch, we'll head back east and explore the north sides of the islands on our way back to our northerly crossing of the Columbia and back to Vista Park. Total distance should be 10 or 11 miles.
