Full Name:
Brenda C. Brewer
Narrative:
Let’s go play in the Narrows! This is one of the prettiest parts of the Willamette river in the Portland area, above the Willamette Falls. In the Winter and Spring it can get rather sporty with currents from the runoffs, but it’s much more mellow in the summer. This is Brenda’s third mentored trip, and Steve Blackwood is kindly serving as mentor.
We will meet at 8:30 am at Willamette Park in West Linn, launch by 9:00, and paddle upstream a couple of miles to the Narrows. Once there, we will nose around the rocks and inlets, and play with some rescues for those who feel like getting wet. We’ll take a snack break on one of the islands in the Narrows before heading back. Water temps are in the 60's, which technically calls for dressing for air temps - I may be in a Farmer John/Jane wetsuit anyway, but you what works best for you.
