Narrative: Come explore the natural beauty of Estacada Lake, in the (hopefully) sunshine!
This is a mentored paddle for Brenda, with Peggy Liggitt kindly helping. This is a relaxed Level II paddle - spray skirt and wet exit certification are required, but the paddle itself usually not real challenging. There is a $5.00 entrance fee for Milo McIver State Park.
We will meet at 8:30 am to try to avoid some of the boat traffic. Once we launch, we’ll meander up the lake, pausing as we like for photos. We’ll cross under the beautiful bridge, admire the waterfalls and seeps, and take a break at the gravel bar for an early lunch/snack. The current will dictate whether or not we go any further upstream. After a suitable break, we will head back downstream to the boat launch. There will be opportunities for rescue practice along the way for those who wish (would suggest a dry suit if you plan to go in).

Recommendations:
• Carpooling if possible, as it can get crowded and parking can be limited.
• Please don’t forget the $5 entrance fee.
• Recommend a kayak cart, in case you need to walk your boat down to the launch.
• Last, would ask folks to kindly not crowd the two power boat launches – there’s one kayak launch, plus room on either side of the power boat launches.
