Leader: Joe Howell
Narrative: We'll meet at Ruckle Park group campsite. Bring your wheels, as we will take our boats down to the rocky shore to launch. We'll head south and bend west along the coast of Salt Spring Island, where we may explore a couple of coves before doing the 1/2 mile crossing to Russell Island. We'll enjoy sandstone cliffs and some smaller bays, while we find a good spot for lunch. There are trails on Russell that you might like to explore as well as an old homestead and interpretive signs. Once back on the water, we'll complete our circumnavigation of the island and paddle back to the south shore of Salt Spring, then follow the shoreline back to home. Total distance about 9 miles.
