Narrative: CROOKED RIVER DAY USE TO JUNIPER CANYON AND BACK: Launch right below the Crooked
River Campground at a sandy beach in Crooked River Day use area. Paddle by the waterfall,
past Round Butte dam, through the neck into the Metolius River, explore Juniper Canyon and
return. This is a scenic route through broad canyons with steep, rocky cliffs. Total Distance
about 12 miles. Very limited take-out options. Consider a break at the cove with the floating
bathroom.
