Activity Title: Lake Billy Chinook Event: Crooked River lower Deschutes orUpper Deschutes day use L2
Date of Activity: 5/17/2024
Narrative: CROOKED RIVER TO LOWER DESCHUTES OR UPPER DESCHUTES DAY USE AREA: Launch right
below the Crooked River Campground at a sandy beach in Crooked River Day use area. Paddle
north until you reach the not-so-obvious confluence of the Deschutes River. Make a hairpin turn
and paddle up the Deschutes River to the Lower or Upper Day Use Areas where you can take a
break. Return to Crooked River Day Use Area. “We considered it a terrific tour of big columnar
basalt cliffs.” There are some interesting rocks in a little cove near the confluence on the
Crooked River side. Distance 8-11 miles depending on your turnaround choice.
