This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt....if the paddler is wearing a spray skirt on a level 1 paddle, the Wet Exit Certification is REQUIRED). To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group if you intend to wear a spray skirt. Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment. If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.

Narrative: What are you doing this Saturday? The weather is really going to be nice. If you don't have plans let's, get out on the river for a kickoff to the good weather. We will put in at Sellwood Riverfront Park and paddle down river past Ross Island and past some bridges past the submarine. We can go as far as the group feels it is up for. We just have to remember that we have to return against the current. This will be a relaxed paddle for all level of paddlers. Let's start getting into the paddle season. We can have lunch on Ross Island. If you have wheels bring them. It is a bit of a carry over to the put in. If you don't have wheels no worries, we can carry the boats, or you can borrow a set. Water is still cold (low 50's) but the air is warm. This is when we have to still wear immersion protection. We will find ways to keep cool even if it hits 80. Wear light underlayment for starters. A hat that you can get wet helps.
