Registration is closed

This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt....if the paddler is wearing a spray skirt on a level 1 paddle, the Wet Exit Certification is REQUIRED).  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group if you intend to wear a spray skirt.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.

Activity Title: Austin Point Area and Bachelor Island, L2, 12-22-22
Date of Activity: 12/22/2022
Narrative: Explore the islands just east of Saint Helens, Oregon from Austin Point and then circumnavigate Bachelor Island. Launching from Austin Point Park, we will cross the river and paddle by Saint Helens, Oregon along the shore of Sand Island Marine Park. We'll then cross the river again and paddle north along the west shore of the small islands on the Washington side. At the north end of these small islands, we'll turn back south behind the islands and then continue past Austin Point and the mouth of the Lewis River to the north end of Bachelor Island. We'll then paddle south into Lake River and then Bachelor Island Slough to the south end of Bachelor Island. Finally we will paddle north along the outside of Bachelor Island, taking a small detour into the slough about mid-island.
