This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification. To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group. Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment. If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.
Narrative: We will meet at Prescott Beach Park and paddle downriver about 3 miles where we will cross the Columbia River to the mouth of the Cowlitz River. We will paddle up the Cowlitz to a railroad bridge and begin our return journey. We will stop at Cottonwood Island and lunch then cross the Columbia River again and paddle upstream to Prescott Beach There are bathrooms at Prescott Beach. There is a $5.00 fee for parking CASH.no cards. The launch point will be just south of the fee collecting station. We will want to get started by 9:00 am and be on the water by 9:45am so we can be off the water by 2:00pm. Winds tend to come up in the afternoon.
