Activity Title: Level 2 Ross Island Circumnavigation
Date of Activity: 3/12/2020
Narrative: Plan to spend the day paddling around a forested island with hopes of eagles, blue herons, deer, and river otters sightings. We'll leave Willamette park at a leisurely 10:30 am launch (arrival 9:45am) and cross to the island where we'll make our way up the west shore. We'll continue downstream and gaze at the newest bridge in Portland the Tilikum bridge, possibly making it all the way to the Marquam bridge. We'll paddle back along the east side of the island stopping for lunch if possible. Weather currently looks good, but no promises. Tuck a warm drink in your gear just in case. There are restrooms available at the launch and the parking rate for a full day is $6. Total water time will be about 4-5 hours for approximately 6-7 nautical miles.
