To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group if you intend to wear a spray skirt. Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment. If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.
Activity Title: Wednesday Nov 20th pre meeting paddle & lunch Date of Activity: 11/20/2019 Narrative: Please come join Dave Smith and I for a pre-meeting paddle on the Willamette and a leisurely lunch at Rivershore Bar & Grill, Rivershore Hotel in Oregon City. We will meet at George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego by 10:30 am and head upriver by 11:00 am, enjoying the cool weather and remaining fall leaves. BRING YOUR WHEELS !! Should take us about 1.5 hrs to get to Rivershore Hotel. We will pass Hog Island and head towards Cedar Island for possible bio break at the boat ramp.. Continue pass Meldrum Bar Park and pass Goat Island. Might do some tow practice behind Goat Island on the way home if we have time and energy. So bring your tow belts. We will cross the river and land on a rocky beach just before the 205 bridge. Pull our kayaks up on the rocks, nice and secure. The hotel is an easy walk from the beach and we'll enjoy the river views from inside the nice Warm restaurant. We will observe the 4 P's, Please Plan to be a Pod Participant :) not a trip for a lone wolf. We will have a nice current assist home and looks like a nice sunny day. We can play some games or do some practice drills if anyone is game :) I always have a fabric fish or 3 in a hatch that's waiting to come out and get WET !!! This will be about a 11-12 mile paddle round trip. Water and air temps are dropping and this is a Dry Suit only paddle. Dress warm, bring water and a Big Appetite !!! Hope to see lots of Hungry faces ;) If we finish too early, we can find a warm and cozy place to enjoy a beverage and get to know each other. Dinner is always an option too :) Meeting Time: 10:30:00 AM Launch Time: 11:00:00 AM Type of activity: Paddle Trip Put in: George Rogers Park, Lake Oswego Take out: George Rogers Park Route Alternative for bad weather: TBD Required equipment: Towline Minimum Immersion protection: Drysuit Primary Organizer: Patti Brown Assistant Organizer(s): Dave Smith Has organizer paddled here before?
