Narrative:
Join us on Friday November 22nd To celebrate beloved OOPSter Peggy Anderson's 79th Birthday on a Ridgefield/Columbia River paddle, one of her fave spots. If you don't know Peggy this is a great time to come out and meet her and other oopsters. We will launch from Ridgefield, WA and make our way down Lake River to the Columbia, We can then make our way upriver and circumnavigate Bachelor Island. There are a number of sandy beaches on the Columbia for lunch & break options. Depending on the day, conditions and the crew we may alternatively choose to explore downriver towards St. Helens or cross to warrior rock light house. The overall distance is about 6-11 miles depending how far we end up journeying. The exact time of our landing is not guaranteed so plan your day's schedule accordingly. We are planning to park and launch at the Port Of Ridgefield Boat Launch which charges a day use fee of $10 but includes maintained heated facilities.
An after paddle gathering is planned at a Ridgefield establishment.
