Registration

  • Active club members, including kayaking professional and lifetime. Provisional acceptance, pending approval by the trip organizer

Registration is closed

This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification.  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.
NOTE: I-205 North will be closed for paving between Southeast Foster Road and Interstate 84 from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5. You'll need to avoid that section of I-205 to get the Rooster Rock State Park.

Narrative: Meet me(Jasper) and Bob Freshman for my second mentored paddle. From Rooster Rock State park boat ramp across the Columbia to the always scenic Cape Horn and back.
If the conditions do not look right for the crossing, we can have a mellow paddle around Sand Island.
This area can get quite windy at times, so while its not required, if you own a towline and have recent practice with it, please bring it.
