Comments and Discussion
This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification. To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group. Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment. If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.
Narrative: The Narrows is one of my favorite Portland local paddles! Every season offers different water heights, paddle scenarios and options. So join me on my first mentored paddle as I progress toward approval as a full organizer! This will be an adventurous paddle with time to explore and take photos. We'll explore around the islands and routes. We'll pick one to stop at for lunch. Come enjoy a Saturday paddle with friends old and new!! It's possible we may practice rescues near the takeout at the end of the paddle, depending on interest and boat traffic. If you want to test how fast you can go and for how long, this might not be the best paddle choice for you. Arrive by 10:00 or earlier if you need more than 45 minutes to get water ready.
