Registration

  • Active club members, including kayaking professional and lifetime. Provisional acceptance, pending approval by the trip organizer

Registration is closed

This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt).  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group if you intend to wear a spray skirt.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.Narrative: Join me for an afternoon paddle up the Willamette River. We'll launch form Cedar Oak Boat Ramp in West Linn and paddle upstream toward the falls. Along the way, we'll pass Goat Island, paddle under the Abernethy Bridge and past the Willamette Falls Locks before getting to the falls where PGE still operates. On our way back, we can paddle up the Clackamas River a short distance before heading back to our launch site. Total distance will be 7-8 miles. Upriver currents will be mild and there are plenty of take-outs available along the way. Parking at the boat ramp is free and restrooms are available. With a launch time of 1 pm, we should be off the water by 5 pm which gives us plenty of time to attend our monthly meeting in Multnomah Village featuring Paul Kuthe.
