Get Your Head Wet! / Columbia Gorge Rescue Practice

  • June 09, 2019
  • 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Cascade Boat Ramp, Stevenson, WA

Registration

  • Active club members, including kayaking professional and lifetime. Provisional acceptance, pending approval by the class organizer.

Registration is closed

This class is limited to members with a wet exit certification.  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip

Come get wet in the Beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Refine your rescues and re-entries, as a team, assisted and solo--the plan is to have fun playing around in & out of boats. We will spend our time in the area around the Cascade boat ramp in Stevenson providing opportunities in both calmer and dynamic water (if conditions pick up during the day). This is a great place to practice your rescues in the conditions where you might need them. Note that this is a practice session rather than a class.
If the wind picks up into the afternoon and for those who are comfortable we might surf a bit in the waves at the end of the session.
