  • Active club members, including kayaking professional and lifetime. Provisional acceptance, pending approval by the trip organizer

Registration is closed

This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt).  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.

Narrative: Join Julia Bergren and Jillian Rivas-Davila for a paddle up the Multnomah Channel past the houseboats and around the southern tip of the island to explore some of its eastern side. We'll launch at 10am from the Sauvie Island Boat Ramp on NW Ferry Road on the southwest section of the Island. The plan is to return to the launch by 2:30pm. The current forecast for May 17th is 68 degrees with a chance of showers. We'll watch for any significant change in conditions. Drysuits are required paddling gear. Parking is free at the boat launch and restrooms are available. You do not need a Sauvie Island parking permit to park there.
