Registration is closed

This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification.  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.

Narrative:
Join me on Saturday for a paddle from Rooster Rock SP to Sand Island. We'll head upriver from Rooster Rock and go around the south side of the island (if there's enough water to get through) and then double back on the north side of the island where we'll stop for a leisurely lunch. We'll get back to the put in at about 2:30 PM, maybe sooner maybe later. I'm not pressed for time and I just want to enjoy some quality time with a few fellow paddlers.

We'll have the tide against us in the first leg and the wind against us on the return leg, but neither should present much of a problem. Pack a lunch, have a snack with you that's easily available if you need a boost while we're out on the water. And don't forget sun protection and a way of staying hydrated easily. We can do practice if people feel like it (rescue, towing, rolling, whatever) on the way back.

Please note that we'll meet at 9:00 for our pre-trip discussion so please be water-ready at meeting time so we can launch at 9:15.

Parking fee ($5, I believe), Oregon State Park Annual can be used instead. Restrooms at put in.
