Registration

  • Active club members, including kayaking professional and lifetime. Provisional acceptance, pending approval by the trip organizer

Registration is closed

This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt).  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.
Narrative:
Milwaukie Bay Park to George Rogers and perhaps up to Hog Is. (6-9 miles RT) We’ll meet at Milwaukie Bay Park (a.k.a. Milwaukie Riverfront Park) at 9:45 a.m. and plan to launch around 10:45 a.m. We’ll be paddling upriver against current, though the tide will be with us. It will be slower going upstream, but heading back will be a breeze. Lunch break at George Rogers Park, Lake Oswego.
Parking is free, but it can be limited. If you don’t find a NON-trailer spot at the boat ramp area, the alternative is to drop off your boat and park across the street in the business area. Single vehicles are NOT allowed in the trailer parking spots. Please arrive early enough to give you time to park across the street if that becomes necessary. You can launch from the dock, ramp, or rocky beach. Bathrooms are available.
We will observe the Four Ps: Please Plan to be a Pod Participant! If you are a lone wolf, this is not the trip for you. This will be a relaxed pace trip; SUPs who can maintain a kayak-pace and canoes with flotation are welcome. No inflatables, please. Drysuits required.
