This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification.  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.Narrative: It looks like we may have a weather window for this coming Saturday and here is a chance to get on the water. We will launch from Willamette Park in West Linn at 10 AM and head upriver to the Narrows. The river gauge is forecast for 57.4 feet on Saturday. There will be some stronger currents and eddies as we pass through the small islands, rock formations and narrow section of the river, a great place to practice in moving water. There is also the option to continue upriver a bit further before heading back. I would expect paddlers will have some moderate currents in the Narrows and should be comfortable paddling in this type of environment. Please bring a helmet if you plan on participating in playing around these features. There will be options to opt-out of the stronger current if needed. Weather looks promising with less than 20% chance of showers and winds of 6 mph, air temp of 45 and water temp in the low 40’s
Bring snacks/lunch/water. We will make at least one stop along the way to take a break.
