This class is limited to OOPS members.  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account.

NOTE: Although part of the Trip Organizer Training/refresh program, this workshop should also be useful to any paddler looking to learn more about our sport.

While a strong forward stroke and effortless maneuvering are important skills to master, there are many additional skills in the toolbox of a well-rounded Pacific Northwest paddler. Please join us for a day of lectures and exercises to help you learn more about: planning a personal or OOPS trip, planning for the appropriate conditions, assessing risk, recognizing medical issues, avoiding legal issues, managing incidents or groups, being a good leader, and awareness of your environment while paddling .

Please read the OOPS Activity Policy before attending this workshop. Please bring your laptop computer, and a throw bag if you have one.

This workshop will happen in a classroom – there is no reason to bring a boat with you or dress for the water.

No food is allowed in the classroom – we will be eating lunch elsewhere (whether you bring or buy is up to you).

If you have taken this workshop before, please hold off registering until people who haven't have had a chance to sign up.  Thanks!
