This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification. To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group. Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment. If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.
Join Kent Slawson and Steve Pruett on the Clatskanie and Columbia Rivers on Saturday, October 20.
We will float out the Clatskanie River to its confluence with the Columbia(approximately 2.75 miles) From there cross the channel to Wallace Island and follow it up river to its eastern terminus . Conditions permitting we will cross over to Eureka Bar and find a nice spot to lunch and get a close up view of the shipping traffic. We will not cross the shipping channel. On our return we will float down the north side of Wallace and return to the Clatskanie via a slough that cuts Wallace Island in half at higher water.
