This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification.  To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.  If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.

Narrative: If you missed this paddle earlier this summer or would just like to do it again, next Thursday offers a great opportunity to enjoy a sunny day on the river in the Columbia Gorge. Temperatures are predicted to be in the mid to upper '80s with very mild winds. We'll launch from Steamboat Landing in Washougal at 10am and proceed eastward, upriver circumnavigating Reed Island. Along the way we'll take out on the island for a lunch break. Total distance for the day will be about 8 miles. We should be off the water by 2pm. There are no parking fees and restrooms are available at the launch site. Please plan to be water ready for our safety talk by 9:45am. While immersion wear is not required, use of wet suits is recommended.
