This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification.  To successfully register, you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group.  Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.

Narrative: Adventure awaits off Cascade Head. Please join Adam Oken and Shawn Altman as they launch from Knight park and ride the Salmon River current out to the open ocean. Our group will explore Three Rocks, Cascade Head, Caves, Arches and more.

Tentative plan is to launch from Knight Park by 9:30 AM (meet up at 8:30 AM) heading to the mouth of the Salmon River. It's a chance to play in the smaller surf, but it's likely to be under 3 ft. From here we will head north to explore some spectacular coast line. It's better we do an early start as the winds tend to pick up in the afternoon.

While this trip is noted as a level 3 it will be an easier level 3 due to the calmer predicted conditions, but this can of course change. If you have been paddling level 2 and have yet to explore a sea cave or open ocean then this would be a great opportunity as conditions should be mild. Due to the nature of Caving and paddling around rocky shore lines with small surf this is a level 3 trip.

We do plan on having lunch during the trip so please bring snacks / lunch.
If you have any questions or concerns please let us know.
