Narrative:
Next Wednesday (3/28) is scheduled to be a sunny day in Portland with temps in low 60s and light winds (under 7mph). Join me on a paddle from Milwaukie River Front up and around Ross Island and back, a distance of about 9 miles. There are plenty of places for takeouts along the way. If winds pick up we can always shorten our paddle. Tides will be mostly favorable to our travel with a low tide at 10:42 and a high at 3:16pm. This means we'll paddle downstream with the current, but we'll have a slight push back from incoming tide. On our way back to Milwaukie we'll have the same incoming tide to assist us upstream until about 3:30. The plan is to be off the water by 4pm. Wednesday is also the night of our General Meeting, so people from out of the area will already be in the "neighborhood" for our meeting. Parking at the boat ramp is limited due to construction. We can still drop off our boats and then park across the road. Fees may apply. There is a restroom at the launch.
