Narrative: Please join us for this Columbia River paddle. Launching from the dock at Steamboat Landing Park in Washougal, we plan to paddle up the Columbia River to Reed Island, a 500 acre 2.5 mile state park that lies to the south of Steigerwald National Wildlife Refuge on the Washington side. Our journey will take us up the channel to the east end of the island for lunch. The plan is to return along the same route, although there could be other options depending on timing, conditions and group consensus. The inside of the channel is always a good place to practice strokes and on a clear day offers impressive Mt. Hood views. Please note that if high winds are forecast, we may change venues to our alternate foul weather route.
