Activity Title:: Bachelor Island Circumnavigation and Wildlife Tour
Date of Activity:: 11/14/2025
Narrative:: Join Brad and Tom for a relaxed late season paddle through the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. Starting from the Ridgefield Canoe/Kayak Launch at 109 W Division St, the trip will paddle North on the Lake River and proceed clockwise up Bachelor Slough and then North on the Columbia River to the outlet of the Lake River and then back to the put-in.
There is a cement block restroom at the main power boat launch, but there is no parking fee required at the Canoe/Kayak launch area.
Dress warm, bring water and a lunch, pack and extra hat and gloves, and maybe a thermos of hot tea or soup.

We should see plenty of Great Blue Heron, Hawks, Ducks, 7 species of Geese, Bald Eagles, Otters, and with any luck maybe some Sandhill Cranes.

REMEMBER the 4 P's - Please Plan to be a Pod Participant and stay with the group.
