This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification. To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group. Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment. If the measured water temperature is different enough from that listed below to warrant a change in required immersion protection, the Organizer will contact all participants and the Trips Board member with the update at least a day before the trip.
Narrative: Please join Joe Howell and me for my 3rd mentored trip. Come experience the changing colors of Fall while we paddle in Yamhill County along the Willamette River. We will meet at Rogers Landing County Park at 9:30 am and plan to launch by 10:00 am. There is a $3 fee with a deposit box by ramp. Bathrooms are available. Summer is over so the power boats will be gone :) We will head up river toward the mouth of the Yamhill River passing Ash Island, farms and vineyards. We might see a few fisher persons trying to hook a Salmon along the way. There will be places to take out on Ash Island and along the way up to our turnaround spot. We can tuck behind Ash Island on the return trip for tow or rescue practice if we are in the mood. Plan on about a 10+ mile round trip as we enjoy the Gorgeous Fall landscape. Dress warm, bring a snack or lunch, water and a hot drink. We can stop for a late lunch in Newberg after. How many can you identify in their Fall colors?? Big Leaf Maples, Snowberry and Grapes.
