This trip is limited to Members who are WEC, unless exempt under Activity Policy, Sec. F.1. Registration will occur the evening before at the Event HQ.
Narrative: We will setup a shuttle from the take-out at Astoria Yacht Club in Youngs Bay. The put-in will likely be just below Youngs River Falls, or on the Klaskanie River. The issue will be how much water is in those rivers. I'll scout the sites on Wednesday and adjust the route at that time. We may put-in further down the river earlier and paddle up with the tide and then turn about close to when the ebb starts around 2 pm
More details will be supplied the night before during the event signup and of course could be modified based on the weather report. Most of the paddle is highly protected with the main hazard being river debris upstream and afternoon winds on Youngs Bay. This could be a 9 mile paddle, but we will have current assist, so it will be close to a level 1 paddle with the requirement that some directional control in current may be required.
