Narrative: It’s going to be a warm one on Wednesday! Let’s stay cool along a scenic stretch of the Willamette River and practice some kayak strokes, rescues, and towing. Yes, hopefully most of us will choose to get wet! If you don't get in the water, plan to get your hat wet or have other ways to cool off. We'll launch from Lake Oswego’s George Rogers Park. There is path that goes near the bathrooms and down to the beach. Bring your wheels and share them with others, too. We'll work our way upriver past Hog Island and up to Cedaroak Boat Ramp where there is a beach area and bathroom. There is also a nice lagoon where we can practice strokes, rescues, and towing. Please arrive around 1:15, and we'll launch at 2:00 p.m. We’ll likely be off the water by 6:00 p.m. This will be six miles round-trip. High tide should be around 5:30 p.m. The tide will rise about one foot as we make our way upstream, then we’ll return near slack, letting the current help us along. Bring along a snack. Afterwards, some folks might want to head to a local brewpub or restaurant, though I will be heading for a meeting.
