Comments and Discussion
This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt). To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group. Your acceptance is conditional on approval by the Organizer, who may contact you with questions about your skills and equipment.
NOTE: Although part of the Trip Organizer Training/refresh program, this class will be good practice and review for any paddler. This class will go over rescue basics: rescuer safety, rescue priorities, T-rescues and self-rescues, the hand of God and Scoop rescues, contact towing, and possibly all the rescues at once… In addition to your boat, paddle, lunch, and helmet, we recommend you bring a spare paddle and paddle float if you have them. Wear extra layers since we may be spending more time in the water than usual.
