Comments and Discussion
This trip is limited to members with a wet exit certification (except for level 1 trips when the paddler is not using a spray skirt). To successfully register you will need to sign into your OOPS member account, and your account will need to be a member of the "Wet Exit Certified" group.
Narrative: NOTE: This class is part of the Trip Organizer Training/refresh program, although all who can handle upper level-2 conditions are welcome. Participants will help plan a day on the water in upper level-2 conditions. During the day, teams of 2-3 will take turns leading the group, practicing navigation, coordinating activities, and dealing with incidents that might occur on a paddle trip. We’ll also discuss what went well, and what could be improved throughout the day. In addition to your boat, paddle, lunch, and helmet, we recommend you bring a spare paddle and paddle float if you have them, a hand compass and chart of the area being paddled, and any other supplies a good paddler or trip organizer should carry with them.
