This trip is limited to OOPS members who are WEC. Sign up for this Saturday trip will take place at a group meeting on the Event site on Friday evening at time TBD.
Narrative: We'll paddle through Steamboat and Elochoman Sloughs (keeping an eye open for wildlife) on the flood up to Cathlamet and take out where possible to have a relaxed lunch. We'll then retrace our route, or take the "express route" along the edge of the Columbia back to Skamokawa, as determined by the abilities and interest of the group. There likely will be some wind on the way back - we may find it easier to stay in the sloughs. It's about 5.5 nautical miles by the slough path (so about 2 hours a direction) Meeting Time: 10:00:00 AM Launch Time: 10:30:00 AM Type of activity: Paddle Trip Put in: Skamokawa beach Take out: Same Route Alternative for bad weather: We'll explore some of the sloughs instead Required equipment: Minimum Immersion protection: Farmer John Primary Organizer: Charles Congdon Assistant Organizer(s): TBD Has organizer paddled here before?
