    • The skills I need help the most with are the pre-rolling skills  I'm definitely interested in in learning how to roll.

Thanks, everyone. Although, I have dystonia and Parkinsonism, kayaking has a miracle effect on me, and I have even walked, run, and twirled! independently and with fluidity as if I never became disabled, for up to ten minutes after kayaking. I have figured out a way to bunjee the kayak to a waist harness and pull it around with my all terrain walker or forearm crutches, but my previously reconstructed ankle has been hurting too much lately and I want to be safe. I'm independent with getting my kayak off and on my car, but anytime people can help me pull the kayak from the car to the put in area during trips and pool sessions, helps save my ankle. I was an occupational therapist (caver, climber, mountaineer, etc) prior to my scuba diving accident which resulted in my neurological conditions. I am good at figuring out how to adapt to my impairments in order to be independent as possible. I might have to demonstrate some of my movement issues and how I adapt until people get to know me well enough. Kayaking is truly a miracle that is unlocking my body. I look forward to meeting all of you

Hi Emese, I'm Joe Howell. I organized the pool session. My apologies for leaving out my name in the post. I will change that for future sessions.

When people arrive, we always try to help each other get boats to the pool. If you'll let me know what you're driving, I will keep an eye out for you and gladly give you a hand. I'll be there a little early, anyway. I'll be in a blue Camry with two boats up...a red and white Grand Illusion and a skin-on-frame.

When we do a Wet Exit Cert, it includes doing reentries, as well. If there's time, we also try to give people at least one self-rescue technique to work on.

As for working together after wet exit, people often work in singles and multiples. If you ask, someone will probably be glad to work together. If I am not otherwise tied up, I'll be glad to work on some things with you.

Now that I posted this, I see that Bob also responded below. Thanks, Bob!

    See you all there!

    Hi Emese,

We will be happy to assist in any way needed, lots of help is available to move your boat. Also, we will be able to work with you on other skills you would like to practice.

    See you later this afternoon.

    Bob

I am new to the group.  I hope to ask for some minor help. I ambulate with forearm crutches and am independent getting my 13' touring kayak off and on my car with my hullavator. I do have a kayak cart.  I just need help getting my kayak from the parking lot back and forth to the pool. My second question is , is do people usually pair up to practice skills? I'm proficient with wet exits but hope to find people to pair up with for the other skills.  I wasn't able to find the info for the organizer to the event. If such help is not possible tomorrow, I do have a friend who is certified to give me the wet exit certification. SOrry for the late post. Thanks.
